DAY 1: ARRIVE IN HANOI

Meals included: N/A I Accommodation: Hotel in Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi (Noi Bai airport), you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel in downtown Hanoi for check-in (hotel rooms are available for mid-afternoon check-in). The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the tree-lined boulevards, French Indochinese architecture and tranquil lakes of this unique city.

DAY 2: HANOI CITY TOUR (B, L)

Our guide & driver will pick you up at your hotel around 08h00 for a full day tour of Hanoi. 

08h30: Visit the sixth century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda (one of the oldest in Vietnam) located on the picturesque West Lake.
09h00: Continue to visit the One Pillar Pagoda, founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049. This structure is one of Vietnam’s most iconic temples.
Close by is the mausoleum of the historic figure and father of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (viewed from outside; closed on Monday, Friday and during the months of September and October) and the former presidents house on stilts where he lived from 1958 to 1969, his former home illustrates the modesty of this Vietnamese revolutionary.
10h15: Visit the Literature Temple and Quoc Tu Giam – Vietnam’s first university constructed in 1070, it’s gardens and well-preserved architecture offers a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past.
11h15: Visit the Hoa Lo Prison also known as the Hanoi Hilton. Built by the French colonial government in the late 19th century, Hoa Lo Prison Museum was originally used to harbor Vietnamese revolutionaries and any dissidents of the French rule.
 
12h15: Lunch will be had in one of the city’s finest restaurants with local Vietnamese traditional cuisines.
14h00: After lunch and break continue the city tour to Museum of Ethnology, a must for museum fans and history lovers. Hanoi's Vietnam Museum of Ethnology houses the extensive national collection and tells the story of Vietnam's diverse cultures in a series of excellently well-curated exhibits. Alternative you can visit the Fine Art Museum or Women’s Museum instead.
15h00: Head to Hoan Kiem Lake (Restored Sword Lake) and visit Ngoc Son Temple or Jade Mountain Temple, one of the most beautiful and religious site in the capital then a walking tour into the hidden alleys of Hanoi Old Quarter.
 
Finish the day with a Water Puppet show, a uniquely northern Vietnamese art form depicting scenes from rural life and episodes of national history.
 
Optional: If you are not interested in watching Water Puppet Show you can enjoy one hour relaxing Xichlo (rickshaw) trip around Hanoi’s Old Quarter also known as the ’36 streets’. This bustling area of narrow streets and alleys is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. It’s a great place to explore with plenty of photo opportunities all around you.

17h00: Return to your hotel. Evening is at your leisure.

DAY 3: HANOI  – HALONG BAY, THE WORLD HERITAGE – OVERNIGHT ON BOARD  (B, L, D)
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner I Accommodation: Overnight on boat 

Halong Bay is listed by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage and voted as a Wonder of Nature by the New7Wonders Foundation. You will have a night staying in this world famous bay.

08h00: You will be picked up from your hotel lobby for a 3hr 30min drive to Halong Bay including a 20-minutes stop on the way. Arrive at your jetty in Halong City towards noon and proceed with check-in formalities. After your welcome onboard, a lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay itself passing by impressive rock formations with unusual names and shapes.

In the afternoon, enjoy some visits and/or activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary - you may visit a beautiful cave, have some swimming at a beautiful beach or do kayakingor just spend some time relaxing on board. Towards the end of the day the boat sets anchor for the night among the karst formations. Dinner is served on board.

DAY 4: HALONG BAY – HANOI (B, L)

Meals included: Breakfast, Brunch | Accommodation: Hotel in Hanoi

Awake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands, a sight not to be missed! Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to visit a wonderful cave in Halong Bay.
Return to the junk for breakfast then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Halong Bay. Enjoy a light lunch before heading back to shore. Your driver will then meet you at the Halong jetty for your drive back to Hanoi.

16h30 - 17h00: Arrive in Hanoi. Rest of the day is free at your leisure.

DAY 5: HANOI – FLIGHT TO HUE – HALF DAY HUE CITY TOUR (B, L)

After breakfast transfer to the airport for the short flight to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Its mesmerizing tombs and mausoleums of the last emperors of Vietnam reveal fascinating insights into the lives of the imperial families and their subjects.
On arrival you will be picked up for a visit to Dong Ba Market. Stroll around the market with your guide. The market is one of the must see sites in Hue, the stalls are teeming with color and a great place to catch a glimpse of everyday life.

In the afternoon visit the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. The ancient citadel reflects the pomp and ceremony of the dynastic rulers as well as the scars of many years of turmoil, both ancient and modern (the Royal Citadel was badly damaged in the latter stages of the war) but retains a sense of grace and majesty even today.
Then board a boat for a 30 minute trip on the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu (Celestial Lady) Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River constructed in 1601, the 21-meter tower is the centerpiece of the pagoda and represents seven reincarnations of Buddha. On the pagoda grounds is the famous Austin car a resident monk drove to Saigon in 1963 to protest against the southern regime. The photo of his self immortalization is one of the most well known images of the war.
Evening is at your leisure.

DAY 6: HUE – DA NANG (B)

Say goodbye to Hue as you move towards Da Nang (2.5 hour duration). Stop en-route to see the scenic fishing village Lang Co Beach. Lang Co beach attracts visitors with its stunning white sand beaches and crystal blue water. After passing Lang Co beach, we will drive for 20km on Sea cloud pass (Hai Van Pass) – the highest pass in the country and one of the most scenic and historic hillside roads in Vietnam.
Check in your hotel on arrival. Rest of the day is at your leisure for swimming, or discovering Da Nang city on your own.

DAY 7: DA NANG – HOI AN (B)

Meals included: Breakfast | Accommodation: Hotel in Hoi An

Morning is free at your leisure. You can make your way towards the beach for swimming, sunbathing or, simply hang out by the hotel pool.
Afternoon transfer to Hoi An, a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries whose architecture and relaxed lifestyle has changed little over the years. Arrival and check in your hotel.
Stay overnight in Hoi An.

Optional (at your own expense):
You can visit Ba Na Hills and Golden Bridge. Walking on the Golden Bridge to feel like walking on the clouds. Just newly opened to the public in early June 2018 the bridge which was built in the midst of the forest stands out in yellow. Noteworthy, this unique architecture with the bridge image supported by grey hands, creates a beautiful scenery surprised. Great opportunity for taking photos, enjoying the easy breeze, and breathtaking view.
 

DAY 8: HOI AN (B)

Meals included: Breakfast | Accommodation: Hotel in Hoi An

This morning you will explore Hoi An on foot, visiting an old merchant’s home, Hoi An Market, a local Chinese temple and the Japanese Covered Bridge. The bridge was first constructed here in the 1590s by the Japanese community to link them with the Chinese quarters. Over the centuries, the ornamentation has remained relatively faithful to the original Japanese design. The French flattened out the roadway for cars, but the original arched shape was restored in 1986. 
Return to your hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure to wander through the town or relax at one of the many cafés along the picturesque Thu Bon River. 
Stay overnight in Hoi An.

Optional (at your own expense):
You could take a taxi or make the easy five-kilometre bicycle ride through the rice paddies and shrimp ponds to Cua Dai beach. Alternatively Hoi An is one of the best places to shop for souvenirs, especially if you’re looking for t-shirts, paintings or ceramics. For those interested in getting clothes tailored, this is definitely the place to shop. Another good idea is to take a boat trip out to a village specialising in ceramics and boat-building or visit the local farm in Tra Que Village and have a local home cooked meal including a “banh xeo” a specialty savoury.
 

DAY 9: HOI AN – DA NANG – FLIGHT TO NHA TRANG (B)

Meals included: Breakfast | Accommodation: Hotel in Nha Trang

The morning is left free to relax in this beautiful area.
Later you will be transferred to Da Nang airport for one hour flight to Nha Trang – the beach capital of Vietnam also well known for its beaches and scuba diving. Arrive at Cam Ranh airport where you will be met then taken 45-minute transfer by private car to your hotel in Nha Trang. 
Rest of the day is at your leisure.

DAY 10: NHA TRANG ISLANDS AND SNORKELING TOUR (B, L)

08h30 Depart from your hotel to Cau Da port. Embark on a boat trip to Mun Island – the best island for snorkeling where you can see lots of lives colorful corals and fish. Then go to Mot Island for fishing, relaxing, swimming & doing water sports or other activities (optional). Next we go to Mini Beach where a delicious lunch of seafood is served.
After lunch, you can relax and sunbathe on a deck chair in a hut or on the beach while drinking Vietnamese coffee.

15h00 Visit a local fishing village on the way back to the harbour where the bus awaits to bring you back to your hotel. Have dinner on your own and free in the evening.

DAY 11: NHA TRANG – DA LAT CITY (B, L)

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch | Accommodation: Hotel in Da Lat

This morning depart for Da Lat – the jewel of the Central Highlands. It is featured by a park-like environment, with lovely temperature 15°-24°C and sunlight all year round, which create numerous waterfalls, pinewood hills, lakes and evergreen forests and gardens.
Upon arrival in Da Lat, you will first visit Prenn waterfalls about 10km away from Da Lat on the way, then Tuyen Lam Reservoir, Truc Lam grandiose temple. Have lunch, then take the horse cart round the hilly roads of Da Lat to the graceful Xuan Huong Lake in the centre of the city is highly recommended.
Evening free at your leisure. If you like to hike around by yourselves, remember that coffee and cake in Da Lat are some of the best in Vietnam and easily to be found in any finer cafes.

DAY 12: DA LAT – FLIGHT TO HO CHI MINH CITY (B)

This morning you will visit Da Lat’s main attractions, including Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Trai Mat and the Old railway train station.
There is some free time before a transfer to the airport for a flight to dynamic Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by the locals (50 minute duration). Upon arrival you will be picked up and transferred through the city to your hotel for check-in. The busy city of Saigon, used to be the capital of South Vietnam, is the biggest commercial and cultural centre of Vietnam. Evening at leisure.

DAY 13: HO CHI MINH CITY AND CU CHI TUNNELS (B, L)

Depart from your hotel at 08h00 for a visit to the War Remnants where exhibition halls display imagery of both the French and ‘American’ wars or History Museum (choose which one you would most like to see) and the Reunification Hall, formerly known as the former Presidential Palace it was towards this modern building that North Vietnamese tanks seized on the morning of April 30 1975, as Saigon fell. This fascinating building is filled with history still fresh in the minds of many. Continue going to visit Ben Thanh Market where an incredible display of fresh produce is offered. Simply stroll through the market exploring the variety of goods for sale.
Stroll (your vehicle will be available at all times) to the major sights of colonial Ho Chi Minh City: the Old Saigon Post OfficeDong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental HotelOpera House and City Hall.
In the afternoon depart Ho Chi Minh City for the drive to Cu Chi district. Leaving the city behind, the scenery changes to views of rice paddies, villagers drying noodles by the side of the road and other scenes typical to southern Vietnam.
Arrive and start the visit of the famous Cu Chi Tunnels which consist of an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters (Viet Cong) during both the French and American wars. Start the visit with the Ben Dinh or Ben Duocsections of the tunnel. Here you can imagine what it was like to be a guerrilla complete with Russian Carbine rifles and AK 47’s on display. In the late afternoon journey back to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive at your hotel around 17h00.

DAY 14: HO CHI MINH CITY – MEKONG DELTA (BEN TRE) – HO CHI MINH CITY (B, L)

Escape the city for a tour of the Mekong Delta, where you'll see what life is like beyond the urban centre of the south. 
Travel to Ben Tre to discover the unique lifestyle of inhabitants living along the Mekong Delta. Board your cruise on Ben Tre River (one of the tributaries of Mekong River) before stopping at brickworks to see how bricks are made in traditional style by printing and baking. Next, visit a coconut processing workshop located along the canal. Turn on natural scissors creeks where they look smaller and smaller which will lead to a local village. Walk to a family workshop to observe sleep mats being made while enjoying some fruits and tea. Then you’ll take a motor cart or cycle under shady trees, pass by green rice fields and vegetable plains all while getting a feel for the life and tropical culture from Peasants.
Lunch is served at a riverside restaurant.
In the afternoon, you’ll take a row-boat along water palm creek and then boat back to Hung Vuong Pier, where your transport is waiting back to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive at your hotel around 17h00. Evening is at leisure.

DAY 15: HO CHI MINH CITY – DEPARTURE (B)
